RESILIENCIA
podemos mejorar nuestra resiliencia ?
No te

RESILIENCE in Trading
Last week, Easter,
my family hard to set up the 3rd station of the Via Crucis, where Jesus falls
down for the 1st time and gets up to continue. He gave us a great example of
RESILIENCE
, which means the ability to adapt, overcome and rebound from
adverse situations without altering the functionality, therefore being able
to return to our natural state.
This ability is so
important in trading too, it´s innate to a lot but it can also be developed.
All successful traders
most have high resilience, since the markets tests us daily and we all know
that this work in 80% dominated by emotions.
How can we develop
resilience?
1.
Have a support net, made up of both fellow
traders and non traders with whom we can share our pressures and highs/downs
of the business.
2.
Be attentive to your thoughts, get rid of the unproductive
negative ones and focus on the positive. It´s useless to continuously
complain about the price movement or the strategy that failed once again,
identify what you can do and fix to improve the situation and do it in a positive
manner, focusing on the good.
3.
Feed your dreams, they are going to be our
gasoline during the hard times, let them become your passion so that we cannot
easily give up, instead always want to keep on fighting to reach them.
4.
Cultivate self confidence, we can achieve it
with constant focus practice. Don’t freeze when you see a possible setup,
take it, if you have already practice it hundreds of times and you know it
works most of the time, take it!
5.
Learn from your errors if not, you are going
to perpetually make them again. Journal and review your results, the good and
the bad, what did we do right, what do we need and can fix. Accept losing
trades as part of the business, they are, don’t struggle to avoid them, they
have to happen, but when they happen make sure it was market situations, not
human error.
6.
Move, we achieve nothing by thinking and
thinking, planning and planning, do it! Only rain falls from the sky, all
others we must go get it.
7.
What is is, accept things as they are, some we
can change but not others. Don’t pretend to control de market, we couldn’t do
it even by being the biggest fund in the world! Prices will do whatever they
want to do. Accept it. Control what you can, your strategy, your execution,
our decisions, our actions.
8.
Balance your life, trading is just a work, a
mean to generate income, don’t let a good or bad day/month/quarter define you
as a person, we are much more. A losing streak is just the market testing us,
our resilience. Look at your life further, in family, friends, hobbies,
community, etc.
9. Get out of your confort zone, put yourself in
situations of change so that you need to face and develop the ability to adapt
and be flexible. It helps in keeping in attitude that we can move forward no
matter what.
